民眾王小姐來函感謝和平婦幼院區-急診室全體醫護人員
Hi, my name is Ji**** Wang and I am writing this email to thank all your staff members for their help during my brief visit to the Emergency Department recently. I am not sure how I am able to pass on my heartfelt thanks and so I found this on your website. I sincerely hope you are able to pass on my thanks to the staff members of the Emergency Department of Taipei City Hospital Heping Branch. My partner and I attended the Emergency Department of Taipei City Hospital Heping branch on the night of the 05/05/2016 around the time of 2205hrs due to the unfortunate gastroenteritis, being an Emergency Department Nurse myself back home in Sydney, Australia, I know that attending the ED for this type of illness probably wasn't warranted, but my partner and I needed medical clearance from your doctors to ensure that we are able to return home via 2 separate flights the next day. Although the process of attending the ED is different to what it is like in Sydney, your staff members were helpful when we asked very simple questions as we were both unfamiliar with the process of how health care works in Taiwan, like, we didn't know where to register, where we paid for medications etc. Your staff were professional and helpful when we needed help and I couldn't thank you all enough for your help that night. I have been an ED nurse for 5 years now, and I understand how busy and how chaotic it is to work in that environment, it takes very special people, from the nurses to the doctors, the clerks and to the pharmacists and all those behind the scenes who continuously work together as a team to ensure that processes are as smooth as possible. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who were working that night for their continuous hard work and dedication. To the triage nurse who triaged us, thank you for ensuring our names were spelt correctly and took us through when we were extremely lost, to the doctor who saw us, thank you for your professionalism in seeing both my partner and I, we both are from Chinese speaking backgrounds but grew up in an English speaking country where the Chinese we use are rarely ever medical, thank you for understanding us through our rather simple Chinese, to the nurse who directed us to the pharmacy and who ultimately gave us the IM injection, I never knew that rubbing my arm post IM was needed for Buscopan, I have to say that my arm wasn't sore as it usually is after an IM injection and I might try it again for my upcoming flu vaccine and also recommend that to my future patients. To the pharmacists who directed us to the clerk and who explained the medications to us, thank you very much, and to the lovely clerk who typed out our details and allowed us to pay by card, thank you for your hard work, you are definitely one of the backbone of the hospital. There are others who work behind the scenes, and I am not sure if ED in Taipei are like the ones in Sydney Australia, we rarely get a lot of thanks as it is such a quick turnover and so I would like to thank you all for everything, from treating us and to treating your other patients that day and all the other days. Know that small things can make a huge difference to other people, and your job makes a huge difference to other people's lives. My partner and I have recovered well and are already missing the fantastic food in Taiwan, and we hope to be returning to Taiwan in the near future, but for us, we might just skip visiting you in hospital next time :)
