Q: What are the points to note for the anonymous HIV/Syphilis screening test?

A: Concerning about the screening test, there are a few points to note as the list below

1. Window period: Before scheduling the anonymous screening test, please be awarded that there are window period for screening tests(3 months for HIV screening, 1 month for syphilis screening) and the results might be incorrect. If your last risky behavior took place before the window period, please make an appointment for the anonymous screening. If it took place within the window period, it is not recommended to receive the screening. Please wait patiently until the window period passed or call the consultation hotline for further assist.
2. Anonymous: From the start to finish, the entire screening process is anonymous; your privacy will not be violated for any reason.
3. Privacy: In order to protect your privacy, the anonymous tests will be done at a different location from the outpatient department.
4. Consultation: The entire screening process will take approximately 30 minutes with on-site comprehensive consulting services available. The result will be available on-site or after a week (depends on the screening method chosen). If you have any concerns or questions about the process or sexually transmitted diseases (HIV/AIDS included), please consult the testing staff for more detailed information.
5. Result: The KPCC will not retain your personal information, if you did not have the result on-site, please call the provided phone number for the results a week after the screening.
